Classes for 5 & 6 Year-Olds

GET DRAMATIC!

Meets Thursdays: March 28 - May 2 from 4:15-5:00 

Students will explore character building and storytelling.

Taught by Teaching Artist Elizabeth McRae

Classes for 7-10 Year-Olds

TWISTED TALES!

Meets Wednesdays: March 27 - May 1 from 4:15-5:15 

Enter the imaginary world of well known stories with a twist! Play, imagine and act!

Taught by Teaching Artist Sam Cota

Class Tuition: $70   

 

Classes for 11-14 Year-Olds

SCENE STUDY

Wednesdays: March 27 - May 1 from 5:15-6:15

Scene Study involves actors taking a specific scene from a play to find the given circumstances, character motivations, and the character objects and working on it in front of an acting instructor to bring the emotional story of your character come alive in a fully memorized scene.

Prerequisite required: Either Acting Technique class or member of the Academy Players class

ACTING TECHNIQUE

Thursdays: March 28 - May 2 from 5:15-6:15

With "Acting is Doing" as the basis, students will learn how doing "in-the-moment" activities will ignite their imagination and help develop on-stage skills as a precursor to Scene Study classes.

Taught by Associate Artistic Director Alan Malone. 

Class Tuition: $70

 

Classes for 15 -18 Year-Olds

MEISNER ACTING TECHNIQUE

Fridays: February 16 - March 8 from 4:30-5:30

With "Acting is Doing" as the basis, students will use Meisner foundation exercises (Repetition, Emotional Preparation, Activities) to learn how to be present and reactive in the moment as a precursor to Scene Study classes.

Taught by Associate Artistic Director Alan Malone. 

Class Tuition: $60

For Creative Kids in 6th - 9th Grades

THE ACADEMY PLAYERS

BHCT is focusing its mission on training and technique to encompass theatrical experiences that support individual growth, collaborative play, and artistic exploration.  We focus our sessions on technique as well as individual development.  The Academy is intended as a training program for students who are interested in advancing their skills. 

Interested students MUST audition to become an Academy Player

To become an Academy Player: Prepare an audition of a one minute memorized piece.  That piece may be a monologue (published or self-written), a poem, a commercial, etc.  It simply must be prepared and memorized.  Please no vocal music auditions.  Please contact Anita at anita.ross@wcpbhct.org in order to schedule an audition or with any questions or concerns.
