WCP 2010-11 Season Announced!

The Waterloo Community Playhouse 2010-2011 season will kick off July 9 with the previously announced Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Joseph, his coat of many colors and his amazing ability to interpret dreams is a blockbuster of Biblical proportions. It is a journey through ancient Egypt beginning with Joseph's brothers selling him into slavery. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's award-winning musical parable features an array of musical styles from country western and calypso to bubble gum pop and rock 'n' roll. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is packed with favorites like "Any Dream Will Do," "Close Every Door," "One More Angel in Heaven," and "Go Go Go Joseph."

The fall show playing September 10-18 will be a revival of the classic Ernest Thompson play On Golden Pond. The beautiful story of three generations of the Thayer family growing closer together over a summer On Golden Pond.

October 22-30 brings Brian Mitchell's comedy about facing yourself, your milestones and your family in The Big Five-Oh. Brian wrote the very funny Squirrel Lake which WCP did a few years ago.

December 10-19 brings the holiday show and a revival of Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever which asks the question "can the Bradley family and the church ladies survive the Herdman family and their attempted coup of the annual church pageant."

January 28-February 5 will be Smoke and Mirrors, a mystery-comedy by Will Osborne and Anthony Herera about a power-hungry director who lures his timid screenwriter to an isolated island and tries to outwit the Columbo like sheriff.

In the spring a young man's fancy may turn to love but in The Sugar Bean Sisters the Nettle sisters' fancy turns to romance, murder and alien abduction. In Nathan Sanders' authentic southern gothic comedy Willie Mae and Faye plot to find a way out of their swamp dwelling in Sugar Bean,Florida. March 18-26.

Closing the season May 13-21 straight from its highly successful Broadway revival is Marc Camolettis farcical comedy Boeing, Boeing. A Parisian Lothario juggles three airline hostess fiancees by keeping one up, one down and one circling until they all have a schedule change and arrive on the same day.
